䷚ 27. Nourishment

Judgment

The Corners of the Mouth. Perseverance brings good fortune. Pay heed to the providing of nourishment and to what a person seeks to fill his own mouth with.

At the foot of the mountain, thunder: the image of Providing Nourishment. The superior person is careful of his words and temperate in eating and drinking.

Interpretation

Hexagram 27 speaks of nourishment in all its forms — physical, mental, and spiritual. What we take in and what we give out defines our character. This hexagram advises mindfulness about what feeds us and what we feed to others.
