䷡ 34. Great Power

Judgment

The Power of the Great. Perseverance furthers.

Thunder in heaven above: the image of the Power of the Great. The superior person does not tread upon paths that do not accord with established order.

Interpretation

Hexagram 34 represents a time of great power and energy. Like thunder resounding in heaven, the force is immense. But true greatness lies in channeling this power according to principle rather than using it recklessly. Strength without righteousness leads to failure.
