䷪ 43. Breakthrough

Judgment

Breakthrough. One must resolutely make the matter known at the court of the king. It must be announced truthfully. Danger.

The lake has risen up to heaven: the image of Breakthrough. The superior person dispenses riches downward and refrains from resting on his virtue.

Interpretation

Hexagram 43 speaks of the decisive moment when truth must be proclaimed despite danger. Like a lake overflowing toward heaven, the pressure to act has reached its peak. Determination and openness are required, but force should be accompanied by generosity.
