䷶ 55. Abundance

Judgment

Abundance has success. The king attains abundance. Be not sad. Be like the sun at midday.

Both thunder and lightning come: the image of Abundance. The superior person decides lawsuits and carries out punishments.

Interpretation

Hexagram 55 represents the zenith — the peak of fullness and abundance. Like the sun at midday, this is the moment of maximum brilliance. One should not mourn that it must eventually wane but rather act decisively while conditions are at their peak.
