Judgment

After Completion. Success in small matters. Perseverance furthers. At the beginning good fortune, at the end disorder.

Water over fire: the image of the condition in After Completion. The superior person takes thought of misfortune and arms himself against it in advance.

Interpretation

Hexagram 63 depicts a moment of perfect balance — everything is in its right place. But this completion is fragile; the very perfection of the order contains the seeds of its eventual decline. Vigilance and careful maintenance are needed to preserve what has been achieved.
