Heaven in its motion gives the idea of strength. The superior person makes himself strong and untiring.

Interpretation

Hexagram 1 represents pure creative power — the primal force that initiates all things. It symbolizes strength, initiative, and the dynamic energy of beginnings. When this hexagram appears, it signals a time of great potential and the need for bold, principled action.

The six unbroken lines form the archetype of heaven — pure yang energy in its fullest expression. This is the dragon rising through the stages of development: from hidden potential to powerful flight, and finally to the wisdom of knowing when restraint is needed even at the peak of power.

The Creative does not act through force alone, but through the natural authority that comes from alignment with the fundamental principles of existence. Like the sun that illuminates without effort, true creative power flows from an inner source that is inexhaustible when one remains connected to what is authentic and true.
