Thunder in the middle of the lake: the image of Following. The superior person at nightfall goes indoors for rest.

Interpretation

Hexagram 17 speaks of the wisdom of adapting to circumstances and following the natural flow. True leadership sometimes means knowing when to follow. Like thunder resting in the lake at nightfall, there is a time for action and a time for rest.
