Judgment

Approach has supreme success. Perseverance furthers. When the eighth month comes, there will be misfortune.

The earth above the lake: the image of Approach. The superior person is inexhaustible in his will to teach and tolerant in his protection of the people.

Interpretation

Hexagram 19 marks a time of growing influence and approaching opportunity. Like the earth nurturing the lake, benevolent forces are at work. But this favorable time will not last forever — one must act decisively while conditions are favorable.
